Version 10 saw the introduction of Excel-based reports with dynamic data connections.  This made access to live data easier for end users as the scripts and connections were already written.

While this functionality is available, I don’t think there are many of our sites that use it.  The deployment and setup is quite easy and security to the data can be controlled.

Our next set of training courses will cover how to use the data connections and reports and this video will show you how to deploy the reports and connections.

The only difficult part is deciding who needs what security.  Pre-defined security roles are already in your SQL database and this document will give you all the details you need for deciding which roles to assign to people.

As always, if you need some help getting this up and running, just give our support desk a call to arrange for some consulting support.
